The court has once again extended the ban on peaceful assemblies in the Pervomaisky district

The Bishkek District Court granted the request of the local administration and established a temporary ban on peaceful gatherings in the Pervomaisky District. This ban will be in effect from January 1 to March 31, 2026.

According to information from the court's press service, the decision was made on December 31, 2025. During this period, all peaceful gatherings are prohibited throughout the district, except for official events conducted by the state and municipality, which are only allowed in Ala-Too Square.

All other gatherings must take place in the Maxim Gorky Park, located at the intersection of Ryskulov and Isanova Streets.

It is worth noting that restrictions on peaceful gatherings in the central areas of Bishkek have been imposed repeatedly. The first large-scale ban was established in 2022 by the Pervomaisky District Court against the backdrop of mass protests near diplomatic institutions.

Since then, the court has repeatedly extended these restrictions, including the ban on rallies in the city center until the end of last year, allowing protests exclusively in the Maxim Gorky Park. Judicial authorities have confirmed the legality of these bans, despite criticism from human rights organizations.
