Now, training for category B driving licenses will last 10 months, and for category C - 12 months.
Salimzhanov noted that the training will focus on categories B and C and warned driving school owners against illegally obtaining driver's licenses for money.
Tumanbaev reported that in the first nine months of 2025, there has been an increase in the number of traffic accidents in the country, which has led to measures being taken to reduce road accidents.
He also refuted rumors about the cost of training, which allegedly amounts to 100-130 thousand soms, stating: "There are no such prices; I ask you not to spread false information."
The president's office also clarified the application process for training. According to Boobek Salimzhanov, citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be able to submit applications through the "Tunduk" app starting January 19, specifying their region and their last name, first name, and patronymic.
“We will form groups based on the submitted applications and inform which driving school the training will take place in,” he added.
New training standards for categories B and C have also been implemented. The program for category B lasts 10 months and includes 480 hours covering theory, traffic rules, vehicle mechanics, safe driving basics, first aid, psychophysiological aspects, and legal norms. Training for category C will last 12 months.
Salimzhanov also mentioned that previously the cost of training was 25-35 thousand soms for a duration of 3.5 months, but with the increase in duration and scope of the program, the price will change; however, the exact amount will be announced next week.
