A meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat with a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry
The CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov, who took office on January 1, 2026, emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to achieve the goals of the Russian presidency. He highlighted that this is aimed at strengthening allied ties and promoting the formation of a collective security architecture in Eurasia.
Pankin stated that Russia will cooperate with its allies to develop coordinated approaches to current international security challenges. Important areas of work will include enhancing the potential of the Collective Forces and expanding cooperation in response to modern threats. He also noted the necessity of strengthening analytical research with the involvement of expertise from leading research institutions of the member states.
On behalf of Russia, Pankin congratulated Masadykov on his new appointment and expressed hope for successful cooperation and comprehensive support.
