The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Discussed the Development of Transport Corridors


On January 14, a telephone conversation took place between Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, during the conversation, key aspects of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation were discussed. Special attention was given to the prospects for developing international transport corridors and improving the operation of customs points on the border between the two countries.

The ministers emphasized the importance of coordinated actions by the relevant agencies aimed at ensuring effective cargo transit and creating optimal conditions for the region in the field of trade and logistics.

Additionally, the conversation addressed issues related to the preparation and organization of high-level visits planned for 2026. The parties agreed that such meetings between the heads of state play a key role in strengthening the strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

As a result of the discussion, the ministers confirmed their interest in continuing active political dialogue and practical cooperation on all bilateral issues.
