Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that he considers international law irrelevant to his actions. In an interview with The New York Times, responding to questions about possible limitations on his powers, he noted: “The only limitation I have is my own morality and reason. That’s what can restrain me. I don’t need international law, as I don’t seek to harm people.”

At the same time, Trump emphasized that his administration must adhere to international norms, but he himself will determine when these norms apply to the actions of the United States.

This comment followed events when the U.S. attempted to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, which was regarded by international law experts as an illegal operation.

Additionally, the article mentions that Trump struggled with the choice between NATO and Greenland, stating that the alliance makes no sense without the participation of the United States.
