At a press conference in Bishkek, Deputy Minister of Education Nadira Jusupbekova announced that approximately 170,000 children are expected to be enrolled in the first grades of schools in Kyrgyzstan in the new academic year.

In the capital of the republic, Bishkek, about 25,000 first-graders are projected to enroll. Rakhmat Musaev, the director of the Education Department of the Bishkek city administration, clarified that this number may vary upwards or downwards.

She also noted that in the previous academic year, 17,000 children were enrolled in the first grade.
