It is expected that in 2026, about 170 thousand children will begin their education in the first grade in the country. The Deputy Minister of Education, Nadira Jusupbekova, shared this information at a press conference organized by the "Kabar" agency.
According to her, this is a preliminary figure, and the final number of first graders will be known after the registration is completed.
Rahat Musaeva, the director of the Education Department of the Bishkek city administration, noted that about 25 thousand children are planned to be enrolled in the first grade in the capital, which is significantly more compared to the 18 thousand registered in 2025.
