In Kyrgyzstan, as was revealed at the recent meeting at the Republican Scientific and Methodological Center (RNMC), professional colleges will focus on teaching "green" skills and principles of environmental responsibility.
At the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Education and experts from the Asian Development Bank discussed how to integrate environmental aspects into educational programs.
Maksat Abdigaparov, an ADB expert, noted that incorporating "green" skills into educational programs is extremely important and relevant. Meeting participants emphasized the environmental protection aspects that should be addressed both in theory and in practical classes.
Deputy directors of educational institutions stressed that programs dedicated to the principles of a green economy and waste reduction are already being implemented in initial vocational education, which aligns with the specifics of various professions. This helps to develop modern environmental competencies among students.
Ainura Kuseinova, head of the vocational education department of the Ministry of Education, proposed organizing project work for students and jointly with the RNMC developing a program for the implementation of environmental skills, as well as demonstrating the results of its implementation.
During the meeting, there was an exchange of experiences, and best practices for implementing environmentally sustainable approaches in the educational process were discussed. This event served as a platform for constructive dialogue and the search for new solutions in training specialists with environmental literacy in the system of initial vocational education.
