Currently, 52 Kyrgyz citizens are studying under the 'El ümütü' scholarship program. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov at a meeting held at "Yntymak Ordo".
Baisalov noted that this program was initiated and supported by the country's president with the aim of identifying and supporting talented youth, as well as preparing highly qualified specialists for Kyrgyzstan.
Currently, the scholarship holders are receiving education at prestigious universities around the world, including Ivy League schools such as Columbia and Harvard, as well as Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, the University of Birmingham, the National University of Singapore, and Seoul National University.
Baisalov also mentioned that during his time as an ambassador in the UK, he noticed how students from neighboring countries studied at these universities, but there were very few representatives from Kyrgyzstan.
"Now the situation has changed, and in such universities as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge, 3-4 of our compatriots are studying. These are truly gifted young people who will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of our country in the future," he added.
According to Baisalov, the 'El ümütü' program plays a key role in shaping a new wave of professionals capable of representing Kyrgyzstan on the international stage and working for the benefit of their homeland.
It is worth noting that a republican meeting is currently taking place at "Yntymak Ordo," dedicated to summarizing the results of 2025, with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.
This event is attended by members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of state institutions, authorized representatives of the president in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims.
