The school is falling apart: students of the emergency school in Nookat have been studying in a neighboring village for a year.
The construction of the school began in 2003 when local residents decided to erect a new building on the site of an old chimney. The facility was officially put into operation in 2007, designed for 125 places. However, in 2016, the first conclusion was issued stating that the building was unfit for use. In December 2025, plaster fell from the walls in the corridor and the computer classroom.
In January 2026, experts confirmed that the building was no longer suitable for use, drawing up a demolition act. The report noted that the foundation was settling, the walls were cracking, and the wooden structures were damaged by corrosion and insects. Additionally, the roof was leaking, and the electrical wiring posed a life-threatening hazard. The building does not protect against adverse weather conditions and temperature fluctuations.
Despite all this, the number of students continues to grow. Currently, 311 children are enrolled in the school, while the designed capacity is only 125 places. This academic year, 61 first-graders have joined, and more than 50 are expected next year. Three students sit at each desk, with only 30 cm between them, which does not allow for laboratory work or group activities under the STEM system.
The school lacks a gym, an assembly hall, and workshops. All events take place outdoors. Since January 17, 2025, following the incident with the collapse, the educational process has been moved to the Kyzyl-Teyit school in the village of Zhany-Nookat. Students have to cover significant distances: 4 km from the village of Kyzyl-Teyit, 4 km from Aral, and 7 km from Kochkor-Ata.
The problem with the Besh-Korgon school has been repeatedly discussed at public kurultai and meetings of the Jogorku Kenesh. On June 20, 2025, a delegation led by Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu visited the institution and promised to build a new building. A plot of land measuring 1 hectare has already been allocated for this purpose.
Local residents hope that after a decade of waiting and the recognition of the old building as emergency, the construction of a safe and modern equipped school will begin soon.
