The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic held a presentation of a new project titled "Quality and Innovations in Higher Education" (KIWO).
According to the ministry, this project is being implemented in accordance with a financing agreement signed between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association, which is part of the World Bank Group.
The event was attended by the minister, as well as heads of various structural divisions and departments of the ministry.
During the presentation, it was emphasized that the KIWO project represents a systematic approach to reform aimed at increasing the competitiveness of higher education in the country, developing scientific research, and implementing innovative solutions.
One of the main objectives of the project is to create a sustainable quality ecosystem that aligns with both national priorities and international standards.
Key results of the current stage were presented, as well as strategic directions until 2026 and a long-term development framework projected until 2029.
Among the main goals of the project are:
- Improving the quality of scientific research in higher educational institutions;
- Adapting educational programs to the demands of the modern labor market;
- Enhancing the quality assurance system in higher education.
The implementation of this project involves comprehensive modernization of the higher education system in the Kyrgyz Republic, which should contribute to strengthening the scientific potential of universities and increasing their international competitiveness.
