Tablets may be purchased for high school students in Bishkek schools
At a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council held on February 6, deputy Tatiana Kuznetsova from the "Zhanı-Kuch" party raised the issue of the number of computers in the capital's educational institutions.
She noted: "Informatics is studied until the 9th grade, and the number of study hours should correspond to the program. How is the educational process implemented without the necessary number of computers?"
In response, the director of the Education Department of the Bishkek City Hall, Rakhат Musaева, reported that the Ministry of Education has requested to provide tablets for students in grades 9-11. According to her, the Department has already conducted the necessary calculations and sent them to the ministry, but the amount needed for procurement is significant.
Kuznetsova also inquired whether electronic textbooks would be available on these tablets.
To this, Musaева confirmed that such an option is provided.
Additionally, she added that the budget for the current year includes 14 million 140 thousand soms for the purchase of computers. All regions of the country have already received laptops for teachers, and Bishkek is expecting its shipment in the coming days.
