Deputy from the "Emgek" party, Mirgul Rasul kyzy, noted that last year there was a discussion about the idea of transferring the funding for education in the city of Bishkek from the local budget to the republican budget, with a set implementation deadline of July 2025.
“However, a decision on this matter has still not been made. This year, 10 billion 827 million soms were allocated for education from the local budget, which could have been used for the benefit of the city. At what stage is the implementation of this decision?” — the deputy asked.
First Deputy Mayor Mirlan Baigonchokov explained that this concerns the transfer of funds for salaries in the education sector. “As of today, according to the approved plan, the republican budget for 2026 includes a salary amount of 5.9 billion soms in the form of targeted transfers. At the moment, the first tranches have already started to arrive — 436 million soms intended for salary payments. Other maintenance expenses will continue to be covered by local authorities,” added the first deputy mayor.
