Salaries of cleaners and janitors in Bishkek schools remain below the minimum subsistence level, - deputy
The deputy reminded that on December 25, President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to increase teachers' salaries starting in April.
Although the school staff expressed gratitude for the anticipated salary increase for educators, Abirov emphasized that the situation with technical and junior support staff—cleaners, janitors, kitchen workers, and security—requires attention.
According to him, the salary of junior support and technical staff is only 8,448 soms with a coefficient of 1.20. For a secretary, it is 8,800 soms, and the head of the household receives 12,320 soms. The deputy noted that considering inflation and the rising prices in Bishkek, it is impossible to survive on an amount of about 8,500–9,000 soms.
Abirov questioned whether the salaries for technical and junior support staff in schools would be increased in April. If this is not planned, he suggested conveying the citizens' opinion to the Cabinet of Ministers and considering the possibility of raising their salaries or changing the wage coefficients.
