The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new resolution regarding the work of the National Academy of Sciences under the President.

According to the press service of the Cabinet, the new decision has approved the Academy's charter, as well as the regulations for the coordination council, which will engage in fundamental and applied research in the field of science and innovative technologies, as well as the rules for electing members of the Academy.

Furthermore, the resolution defines the legal status of the Academy and strengthens the role of scientific expertise. The Academy is now required to prepare two reports: an annual national science report for the President and an annual report on scientific achievements for the Cabinet for the past period, as stated in the press release.

Clear rules have also been established for the election of members of the Academy, including qualification requirements, age restrictions, and mechanisms for academic accountability. The document outlines provisions for a code of ethics for Academy staff and measures aimed at preventing conflicts of interest in scientific and administrative activities.
