Gulsharkan Kultaeva, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, emphasized the need to create quotas for students to allow them to undergo internships and practical training in various organizations during a committee meeting on science.

She noted that despite existing government programs, young people face challenges related to a lack of funding for startups, as well as a shortage of interest-free loans and grants.

“To support youth entrepreneurship, more active government involvement is required. This area needs to be developed from an economic perspective. The relevant agency should take responsibility for identifying the real needs of the labor market,” Kultaeva added.

Additionally, the deputy highlighted the importance of studying the requirements of the modern labor market, suggesting that quotas be allocated for students to undergo internships and practical training.

Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Kemel Sadykov also reported that one of the priority tasks of the agency is to prepare youth for the challenges of the future labor market.

According to him, various projects are currently being implemented, but they are insufficient to fully meet the needs. In 2026, the opening of technoparks in universities and agreements with companies to provide students with internship and practical training opportunities are planned.

Kultaeva noted that the mechanism for allocating quotas is extremely important, as employers often refuse to hire young people, citing a lack of available positions.
