In the Kadamjay District, schoolchildren from the village of Zhetigen travel to other villages for their studies every day.
Local residents report that students are transported by buses, which make up to 10 trips a day. As a result, some children do not make it to classes on time and sometimes return home already in the dark. Among the bus passengers, one can also find teachers who travel daily to work in other villages.
Kanzat Shakirova, a resident of the village, shared that she has been working in educational institutions in neighboring villages for 7 years and currently holds the position of school director in the village of Ming-Chynar. "Every day I travel 14-15 kilometers to work and back. More than 20 teachers from Zhetigen also commute to their schools. In our village, there are about 50 educators—qualified specialists. It would be reasonable to build a school and a kindergarten here so that children could study close to home, and teachers wouldn't waste time on the road," she noted.
According to her, students from Zhetigen attend educational institutions in the villages of Zhash-Tilek, Ak-Tilek, Oryuk-Zar, and others. Some of them temporarily live with relatives or grandparents in neighboring villages to avoid daily trips. Local residents add that land plots for the construction of a school and kindergarten have already been allocated.
The Kadamjai District Education Department reported that requests for the construction of a school have been sent to the relevant authorities. In 2023, the Aiyl Okmot allocated 2 hectares of land for the school and 1 hectare for the kindergarten.
According to official data, 1000 land plots have been allocated for housing construction in the village of Zhetigen. Currently, the village has a population of 1726 people and 420 households. Students reach schools using minibuses provided under the presidential initiative. The transport operates in three shifts and makes up to 10 trips a day.
