At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 21, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed dissatisfaction with the new financial measures being introduced by universities. "Just recently, we stopped the practice related to class absences, and now we are seeing a sharp increase in contract-based education. Moreover, universities have started charging money for each credit," he noted.
In Bekeshev's opinion, such actions could negatively impact higher education in the country. He asked the representatives of the authorities: "What regulatory acts are these new ways of earning for universities based on? Young people are concerned about this," he addressed Almas Abytov, a representative of the president and the Cabinet of Ministers.
