Deputy: The school for the visually impaired in Bishkek is set to be relocated to the village of Vorontsovka

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 14, deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva (district No. 23) expressed concern about plans to relocate the school for visually impaired students from the capital to Vorontsovka.
She noted that there are only two specialized boarding schools for visually impaired students in Kyrgyzstan: one is located in Bishkek, and the other in Osh. In Bishkek, there are 220 students, of whom 100 are from other regions of the country.
“The proposed location in Vorontsovka raises serious concerns among parents and educators. It is very difficult to reach there by public transport, and for children with special needs, this can be extremely inconvenient. We urge the authorities to keep the school in its current location and not create additional difficulties for the children,” said the deputy.
