According to the press service of the ministry, representatives from various government agencies, international organizations, scientific communities, and experts in the field of climate change participated in the event.
"Kyrgyzstan, as a party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, aims to fulfill its commitments to ensure transparency and accountability under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF)," the release states.
All participants are required to submit biennial transparency reports and national communications, which ensures the accuracy and regularity of reporting on greenhouse gas accounting, mitigation measures, adaptation actions, and received support.
In 2025, Kyrgyzstan will present its first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1). Based on the successes of BTR1, the Ministry of Nature is starting to create a combined BTR2/NC5, which will integrate data and analytical tools into a unified climate policy management system.
The project has several key objectives:
- establishing regular cycles of climate reporting
- enhancing analytics and improving data visualization
- integrating gender, regional, and socio-economic factors
- strengthening the link between reporting and the implementation of climate policy that aligns with national priorities outlined in UNFCCC 3.0
- using transparent data to attract climate financing and investments in low-carbon development
