In the "Dashman" Reserve, baths and tourist bases are being built; residents demand its transformation into a natural park, - deputy
As reported by Talant Turdumamatov, the director of the relevant department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the area of the reserve is over 8,000 hectares. Currently, a commission is working to study the possibility of changing the status of the reserve. According to him, approvals have been obtained from the ayil okmotu, and the commission has already visited the site, continuing its work. Under favorable circumstances, the issue may be resolved this year.
However, Aibek Altynbekov criticized the sluggishness of the process, pointing out that in recent years, commissions have been repeatedly created, but no concrete results have been achieved. The deputy also noted instances of possible violations in the reserve: “Despite its status, recreational facilities such as baths and tourist bases have appeared there, and logging is taking place. Such structures should not exist in the protected area, but they continue to emerge for 20 years. Local residents raise this issue, but the responsible authorities are nowhere to be seen.”
He added that the legal requirements regarding the structure of the protected area are not being met. In particular, the core zone should constitute 70-75% of the total area, but this indicator is not met in "Dashman." A representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that inspections are currently being conducted regarding some facts of possible violations, including actions by law enforcement agencies.
The deputy concluded that a solution to the problem needs to be reached as soon as possible, as residents of nearby villages are counting on the legal use of part of the territory, especially during the agricultural work period.
