The Museum of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences is in an emergency state, - deputy
According to him, the museum's showcases are outdated, and their current state may pose a threat to the health of both children and other visitors.
“The museum houses unique exhibits that require temperature and humidity control. In fact, a new building is necessary for their preservation,” emphasized the deputy.
He also noted that in 2014, employees of the Zoological Museum of Lomonosov Moscow State University familiarized themselves with the collection of the National Academy of Sciences, which includes type specimens of some new species of reptiles found in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Atambaev added that the staff of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences requests attention to the preservation of wet specimens of amphibians and reptiles. “These collections have significant scientific value for studying the biological diversity of Central Asia. Supporting alcohol collections requires substantial financial resources, but their preservation is an important contribution to the protection of the region's biological resources,” concluded the deputy.
