PM2.5 refers to particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which are 30 times smaller than a human hair. These include various particles of dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. These substances are the main culprits of air pollution in large cities.
As of February 5, Bishkek ranks 15th in the world air quality and pollution level ranking (5:00 PM).
