Umbetaly Kydyraliev, a deputy, reported that information from the Bishkek city hall was presented at the meeting of the relevant committee, which contains a seven-point plan to combat smog. He also inquired whether there are similar initiatives from the Cabinet.
Daniyar Amangeldiev responded to this question, noting that the government has developed its own plan, which is already yielding results. "As I mentioned, the fight against air pollution is not a cheap endeavor, and we are taking these measures consciously, including the zeroing of VAT. Currently, we are working on coal enrichment, which may raise questions about price increases. We are addressing this issue together with the government, providing subsidies for the supply of enriched coal," he added, emphasizing readiness for cooperation with the parliament.
Minister of Ecology Meder Mashiev reported that an interdepartmental commission has already been established, which approved the work plan for 2024-2026. "The Bishkek city hall's seven-point plan has been sent to you and is part of our overall plan. If it hasn't reached you, I will send it directly," the minister noted.
