At the Ministry of Natural Resources, the development of adaptive landscapes and pastures was discussed
During the meeting, Laura Mattioli emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Kyrgyz side and expressed gratitude for the support, as well as positively assessing the environmental reforms being implemented in the country.
The main topic of discussion was the joint creation of a conceptual note for the Adaptation Fund within the framework of the project "ALATOO – Adaptive Landscapes and Agro-Pastoral Transformations for New Opportunities and Sustainable Outcomes." This project aims to work with the ecosystems of pastures and forests, using an integrated and comprehensive approach to natural resource management. Special attention will be given to ensuring sustainable development and the protection of national parks.
Almaz Musaev also informed IFAD representatives about the ministry's current initiatives for biodiversity conservation, as well as the strategic and program documents being developed in the field of environmental protection.
Additionally, the parties discussed the implementation of the project, the preliminary cost of which is estimated at 10 million US dollars. This project is aimed at developing adaptive landscapes and agro-pastoral transformations to create new opportunities and achieve sustainable results.
