The Bishkek City Hall and Belarus Discussed Cooperation in the Field of Ecology and Waste Recycling
Vice Mayor of Bishkek Ramiz Aliyev, Belarusian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sergey Molunov, and high-ranking representatives of the Belarusian government participated in the event: Minister of Housing and Communal Services Gennady Trubilo and Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Maslyak.
During the meeting, Ramiz Aliyev spoke about current ecological projects in Bishkek, particularly the successful cooperation with a Chinese company. Specifically, an eco-technological plant was opened at the Bishkek sanitary landfill, which generates electricity by processing solid household waste. This plant is the first of its kind in Central Asia and has no analogs in the region.
Participants also discussed the possibility of implementing sorting lines with the support of the Belarusian side. As part of the waste sorting program, a modern line for preliminary sorting was purchased, which will operate until the waste is transferred to the plant. This will create conditions for producing components for urban improvement from recycled materials in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the deputy mayor invited the Belarusian colleagues to visit Bishkek to familiarize themselves with the operation of the eco-technological plant and continue discussions on potential cooperation on-site.
