The incident took place in the village of Bhainsaha, located in Kushinagar district, where an annual fair was held at an ancient temple complex, attracting hundreds of visitors.
Witnesses of the event report that the ride, which had dozens of people on it, including women and children, suddenly tilted before crashing to the ground. People rushed to help, trying to rescue the injured from under the metal structures immediately after the fall.
According to the police, there were about 80 people on the wheel, and it had completed two rotations before a creaking sound was heard and the collapse occurred. Of the injured, at least 10 people sustained serious injuries, while the others suffered minor injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that one of the supports of the ride broke during its operation, which led to the collapse of the structure.
