In the city of Osh, 2 pawnshop owners were detained
On March 18, the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Osh reported that a criminal case has been initiated against a group of individuals who issued loans at unjustifiably high interest rates and then illegally re-registered the real estate and property of the borrowers.
As a result of the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the pawnshop owners used predatory conditions for the forced and illegal alienation of citizens' pledged property. According to available information, they exploited the financial difficulties of their clients for a long time, issuing loans on clearly unfavorable terms with the aim of seizing their assets.
Two individuals, B.O. and K.K., were detained during operational-search activities conducted by the criminal investigation department of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Osh.
By the decision of the investigation, the suspects were placed in a temporary detention facility for 48 hours. On March 9, 2026, the Osh City Court ruled to remand K.K. in custody for two months, while B.O. was placed under house arrest due to health issues.
The investigation is ongoing, and operatives are working to identify possible other members of the criminal group.
Law enforcement agencies urge citizens to report any cases of illegal actions by the mentioned individuals. If you or your loved ones have become victims, please contact 102 or call 0770 710 808.
