The wife of the detained Kazakhstani man has once again appealed to the president
Telemisova reminded that on February 6, she had already spoken at a similar event at AKIpress, where she discussed her husband's detention. A.Zh. was arrested on August 6, 2025, at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border at the "Ak-Zhol—Automobile" checkpoint while traveling with friends for a vacation at Issyk-Kul. He is accused under Article 363 ("Financing organized groups and criminal communities") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and is currently in the GKNB pre-trial detention center. The investigation is being conducted by the GKNB of the Chui region.
Lawyer Nurlan Toktaliyev noted that the materials of the criminal case assert that from 2011 to 2022, A.Zh. was involved in smuggling through routes from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan. He is also linked to participation in a transnational organized crime group, although his name is not mentioned in the verdict of this case, which was issued in 2019.
According to Zaure, after the press conference on February 13, she was invited by the Prosecutor General Maksat Asanaliev, who informed her that the president had instructed to release A.Zh. On the same day, his preventive measure was changed to a written undertaking not to leave.
Nevertheless, she, along with her lawyer, emphasized that they are still unaware of the details of the criminal case, the stage of the investigation regarding A.Zh., as well as the date of the next court hearing.
The sister of the detained, Saule Seitimbetova, expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz and Kazakh authorities for their response to their family's request. However, they are now once again asking for A.Zh.'s release and for him to be returned to his homeland.
