According to information provided by the agency, on March 13, 2026, the Lenin District Department of Internal Affairs in Bishkek received information that the body of K. Kapalov was found in a passenger car with a gunshot wound.
On March 14, 2026, a criminal case was officially opened, and investigative actions are currently underway to thoroughly and objectively clarify all the details of the incident, as reported by the service.
Preliminary results indicate that the incident is not related to his professional activities. In addition, a service investigation has been initiated to more thoroughly examine all circumstances of the incident.
The agency has urged the public and the media to refrain from premature conclusions and to wait for the completion of investigative activities and official results.
Previously, some media outlets published an alleged suicide note from Kapalov, in which he thanked his wife for her support and for raising their four children.
In the note, he stated: “You have always been there — in sorrow and joy. You are a strong woman, providing the children with a worthy upbringing. Keep it up. I am grateful to God for meeting you; you made me happy.”
He also asked his eldest son to support his mother, urged the children to be a united team, and apologized to his brother and sister.
