Attack on Iran. The USA is deploying 5,000 infantry troops to the Middle East.
According to the information, the request for deployment was approved by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the Central Command, which is responsible for U.S. military operations in the region.
Additionally, NBC reports on the further deployment of 5,000 infantrymen to support operations against Iran.
These servicemen are part of a rapid response amphibious group and a Marine expeditionary unit known as ARG/MEU.
The group consists of approximately 2,500 Marines and 2,500 sailors assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) stationed in Japan.
It should be noted that the MEU is a unit specifically trained for rapid response to crises, including evacuations from dangerous areas and the protection of diplomatic missions. Furthermore, they prepare positions for the subsequent deployment of other forces, such as special operations units.
