A man who promised to help obtain a driver's license was detained in Bishkek


A man suspected of a series of fraudulent activities under the pretext of providing assistance in obtaining a driver's license has been detained in Bishkek.

According to information from the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, the detainee is B.M., born in 1998.

On December 25, 2025, a citizen named O.U. reported to the police. He stated that on December 11, 2025, in the Kok-Jar area, an unknown person, introducing himself as A.K., convinced him that he could help with obtaining a driver's license, after which he took 120,000 soms. However, he did not fulfill his promises and did not return the money.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 209, Part 2 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the detainee may also be involved in six other cases of fraud. Currently, investigative actions and operational-search measures are being conducted to identify his connections to other similar crimes.

The Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek has urged citizens to report if they have become victims of this individual's actions or have information regarding his possible involvement in other crimes.
