According to available information, on December 22, 2025, a 77-year-old resident of Bishkek named Ch.G. approached the police. She reported that scammers, posing as employees of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Bank, managed to gain her trust and forced her to transfer money via an ATM to a bank card. As a result, the pensioner transferred 22 million 130 thousand soms to them.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, an 18-year-old citizen A.K. was detained, who, according to the investigation materials, acted as a dropper, selling a bank card registered in his name to which the stolen funds were transferred. He has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.
A 17-year-old citizen E.K. was also detained, who acted as a drop facilitator and was involved in acquiring bank cards from third parties through the Telegram messenger. He has also been placed in the temporary detention facility.
The police reported that work to identify other participants in the criminal scheme is ongoing.
The Bishkek Main Internal Affairs Department urges the public to be vigilant and reminds that employees of law enforcement agencies, banks, and government institutions never request money transfers to bank cards or the disclosure of confidential information.
Upon receiving such calls, citizens are advised to immediately terminate the conversation and contact the nearest police station or call 102.
