Tax inspectors found gold jewelry without the necessary documents from a passenger arriving from EAEU countries
Employees of the State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan prevented an attempt to illegally import jewelry. According to the agency, the smuggling was detected at Osh International Airport during an inspection of cargo arriving from the Eurasian Economic Union countries.
In the baggage of the detained passenger, gold earrings, rings, and chains were found, with a total value exceeding one million soms. The carrier was unable to provide the documents required for the import of such goods under the law.
As a result of this incident, relevant reports were drawn up, and the case materials were forwarded to the prosecutor's office for a decision on holding those involved accountable.
The State Tax Service emphasized its readiness to continue actively preventing attempts at illegal trade in precious items.
