
According to Mash, one of the drones exploded near the school in the village of Shekerabad, leading to the destruction of walls. Fortunately, there were no people in the classrooms at the time of the strike.
The "Arash" drone is a high-precision kamikaze drone with a flight range of 1 to 2 thousand kilometers and a warhead weight of 260 kilograms.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan stated its right to retaliatory measures, condemning Iran's actions. In connection with the incident, the Iranian ambassador in Baku, Mojtaba Demirchilu, was urgently summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the ministry, one of the drones struck the airport terminal in Nakhchivan, while another fell near the school in Shekerabad, resulting in damage to buildings and injuries to two civilians.
“We categorically condemn the drone attacks carried out from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which led to damage to airport infrastructure and injuries among the civilian population. Such an act is a violation of international law and increases tension in the region,” the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
The statement also includes a demand for Iran to provide clear explanations of what happened, conduct an investigation, and take measures to prevent similar attacks in the future. Azerbaijan reserves the right to take adequate retaliatory actions.
