During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Ulanbek Zhaanbaev noted that businessmen arriving from Russia often encounter situations where their cash is detained at airports and not allowed across the border, regardless of the amount.
The GKNB provided the following comment on this matter:
“Control over the movement of monetary funds across the border is carried out in strict accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the country's international obligations. These measures are intended to ensure financial security and combat illegal financial operations.”
