In the Alamedin District, 20 SUVs with homemade fuel tanks have been placed in the impound lot.
From March 3 to March 7, 2026, preventive measures titled "Additional Equipment" are being carried out in the region, as reported by the press service of the Road Traffic Safety Department (UOBDD) under the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD).
During the inspections, law enforcement officers identify owners of passenger cars and SUVs who have installed homemade enlarged fuel tanks on their vehicles. According to the police, such vehicles are used to transport fuel with serious violations of safety standards.
Additionally, during the raid, individuals engaged in the illegal trade of fuel and lubricants (GSM) directly on the roadside were identified. Protocols are being drawn up against the violators in accordance with Articles 179–194 of the Code of Offenses.
Currently, about 20 owners of SUVs equipped with illegally installed tanks have already received fines of 5,500 soms each.
Vehicles that have been modified without the necessary permits are placed in specialized impound lots until the violations are rectified.
The UOBDD noted that such raids are conducted regularly. The main goal is to maintain order along the highways and ensure road safety, as unauthorized modifications to vehicle structures and the transportation of explosive materials pose a serious threat to citizens' lives.
