False information was actively spread on social networks
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has denied information about a ban on interaction with certain categories of citizens that has been circulating on social networks. This was reported by the press service of Vesti.kg.
Department specialists emphasized that messages appearing in messengers and social networks about the need to avoid contacts with certain groups and about allegedly existing criminal groups disguising themselves as utility workers are untrue and do not correspond to reality.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that no such statements have been made and urged citizens to remain calm, relying only on official sources of information.
“We want to remind you that the dissemination of unverified and false information may entail legal responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the ministry added.
The department called on citizens not to forward this information and to rely only on official statements from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
