In response to these actions, U.S. President Donald Trump recorded a video address lasting eight minutes. The main points of his speech are as follows:
“We strive to protect the people of the United States by eliminating the immediate threat posed by the Iranian regime, which is a brutal group of extremely dangerous people.
Over the past few years, representatives of this regime have carried out numerous attacks on American troops stationed in the Middle East, which constitutes mass terrorism, and we can no longer tolerate it.
Iran is considered number one among state sponsors of terrorism in the world and has recently killed tens of thousands of its citizens who were protesting. The policy of the United States, especially under my administration, is that this terrorist regime must not acquire nuclear weapons.
After the U.S. attacks last year, Iranian authorities attempted to revive their nuclear program and continued to develop long-range missiles that could pose a threat to our allies in Europe, military forces abroad, and even American territory in the future.
We intend to destroy their missiles and crush their missile industry. I emphasize: it will be completely destroyed. We also plan to eliminate their navy.
While we may suffer losses among our brave American heroes, we act not for current interests but for the future. This is a noble mission.”
Addressing the Iranian military, Trump stated: “Surrender your weapons and receive full immunity, or you will face inevitable death.”
Additionally, he urged the civilians of Iran: “Stay in shelter. Do not go outside. It is very dangerous outside; bombs will be falling everywhere. When it’s all over, take power into your own hands. This is your chance, perhaps the only one in many generations... The time to act is now—don’t miss it.”
In the context of the escalating conflict, Israel also hacked a popular prayer time app in Iran called “Bad Sabah,” adding calls for the overthrow of the Iranian regime under the headline “Help Has Arrived,” reports Ynet.
