The prevention of crimes against minors is a key aspect of ensuring safety in society, stated the senior assistant prosecutor of the Oktyabrsky district of Bishkek, Kunduz Akunova.

According to her, protecting children's rights, caring for their health, and moral development are the main tasks for both the state and society as a whole. Akunova emphasizes that educational work to prevent crimes against youth, strengthening preventive measures, and societal responsibility are of paramount importance.

In Akunova's opinion, the family is the primary link in ensuring a child's safety. Parents should actively engage in their children's lives, communicate openly with them, and know who they are interacting with.

“It is important to teach children to recognize dangerous situations, to be cautious when interacting with strangers, and to inform them about potential threats on the internet,” she added.

Akunova noted that the prosecutor's office, as well as the social development, health, education, internal affairs, and local government agencies, are working closely together to ensure the safety of adolescents and combat crime.

“In particular, the prosecutor's office monitors compliance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and coordinates the protection of children's rights; the Ministry of Internal Affairs is engaged in preventing offenses among minors, identifying dangerous situations, and taking necessary measures; the Ministry of Health actively works to protect children's physical and mental health and identifies signs of violence at early stages; the Ministry of Education and Science creates safe conditions in educational institutions and conducts legal education; the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration assists families in need of support by implementing programs for at-risk children,” she reported.

According to Akunova, joint efforts and constant monitoring are necessary to achieve effective results. Information exchange between various agencies, joint raids and preventive measures, as well as active cooperation with society are the most effective mechanisms for combating crimes against adolescents.

“Only when every member of society realizes their responsibility for the safety of children can we achieve significant success in this area,” she concluded.
