The names of the participants have been changed at the family's request to protect the minor.A woman who contacted the Kaktus.media editorial office reported that on the night of February 14 in Kochkor-Ata, a conflict arose between her niece Zuhra and her partner Tahir regarding their daughter. After Tahir struck the girl several times, Zuhra called her younger brother Ismail to come and take them away.
However, Tahir did not calm down and followed them. At Ismail's house, he stabbed his nephew several times with a knife and also bit off part of his ear, threatening the parents and shouting, "I will kill you all!" the woman reported.
According to her, Zuhra's daughter is now 14 years old. She began living with Tahir about ten years ago, and systematic abuse from him began five or six years ago.The woman recounted that Tahir often abused Zuhra and her daughter. Despite several attempts to leave, Zuhra always returned to Tahir. She could spend a few days with her parents and then go back to him. Even after the knife incident, she left with Tahir's parents. She is currently out of contact, although her mother is trying to reach her but only receives text messages with apologies and promises that it won't happen again.
"We didn't know what was happening until we contacted the police to inquire about the case's progress. We were not informed that we could appeal the court's decision regarding the preventive measure. I went to the police, and the investigator said he had filed a petition for a two-month arrest, but the court rejected it. We had only one day to file an appeal, and we managed to do so. However, the hospital did not provide us with the medical history, only a discharge summary. The victim was in intensive care and lost consciousness upon admission. The doctors noted that his condition was critical. Part of his ear is missing, which is a clear and irreversible facial injury. Despite this, the forensic examination assessed the injuries as moderate," she added, calling on law enforcement to reconsider the qualification of the article and the court to change the preventive measure for Tahir.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 280 "Hooliganism" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Expert examinations have been appointed, Tahir has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The court has decided to apply a preventive measure in the form of house arrest, the Internal Affairs Directorate reports.
