Fuel tanker exploded on the Bishkek-Osh highway: Identity of the deceased established

As a result of a traffic accident that occurred on the Bishkek-Osh highway, a fuel truck exploded, resulting in the death of a man. Investigative actions are underway.

According to reports from the Internal Affairs Department of the Jalal-Abad region, on February 25, a cargo vehicle transporting fuel and lubricants completely burned down on the Bishkek-Osh highway. During the cleanup of the incident, the body of the deceased was found.

The incident became known on February 25, 2026, at 17:20, when an operator from the "112" service relayed information to the duty unit of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Kara-Kul. It was reported that a large fuel truck heading south was on fire at the 423rd kilometer of the Bishkek-Osh highway.

This information was recorded in the electronic journal of the Internal Affairs Department, after which an investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers saw an overturned cargo vehicle of the "DAF" brand with a trailer, which was completely engulfed in flames, on the opposite lane (section 400–423 km). Firefighters who arrived at the scene were able to localize and extinguish the fire.

During the inspection of the cabin of the burned vehicle, a charred body was found. It was established that the deceased was a resident of the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region, T.Ch., born in 1985. His body was transported to the morgue of the Kara-Kul hospital.

A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the exact cause of death. Investigative authorities are actively working to clarify all circumstances and causes of this traffic accident that led to the fire.
