According to information provided by Deputy Burun Amanova at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, there has been an increase in cases in Russia where young citizens of Kyrgyzstan become targets of criminal prosecution for drug trafficking, often without realizing it.
She noted that many of them are misled and subsequently face trial. "This raises serious concerns," Amanova stated.

The deputy also cited an example from a resident of the Kadamjai district named A.O. He reported that a girl born in 2001 is currently serving a sentence in one of the Russian prisons. Amanova appealed for the possibility of her transfer to Kyrgyzstan to be considered.

Furthermore, she emphasized the need to conduct an analysis among citizens in Russian correctional facilities to determine the crimes for which they are serving sentences and to explore options for their repatriation.
