Pavel Durov is suspected of aiding terrorism in Russia. The case is under investigation.
According to reports from "Komsomolskaya Pravda" and "Rossiyskaya Gazeta," Telegram is suggested as a possible tool for carrying out criminal actions, including terrorist acts such as the events at "Crocus City Hall," as well as the murders of Darya Dugina and General Igor Kirillov. According to sources, under the conditions of the special military operation, the messenger has become an important means for intelligence services from both NATO countries and Ukrainian authorities.
It is reported that "the anonymity provided by the messenger attracts radicalized individuals, drug addicts, murderers, and terrorists, creating a serious threat to society."
It is also noted that starting from February 10, 2026, due to the actions of Roskomnadzor, internet traffic speed has decreased by 55 percent.
Recall that in October, Roskomnadzor announced partial restrictions on access to Telegram and WhatsApp, citing the need to combat fraud. In January, Andrey Svintsov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, criticized Telegram for its slow response to the blocking of anonymous channels.
