According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, there has been an increase in cases of deliberately false reports of terrorist acts in recent days, which raises serious concerns. Both adults and schoolchildren are involved in such incidents.

Law enforcement agencies are forced to respond to such calls based on the real threat to the lives and health of citizens, which leads to the necessity of conducting thorough checks. This diverts resources and efforts from their primary tasks and harms the state budget, the GKNB emphasizes.

False reports of terrorist acts are considered a threat to public safety. They disrupt the usual rhythm of life, paralyze the work of institutions and organizations, and lead to the evacuation of people, the statement notes.

Such crimes most often occur in schools, shopping, and entertainment complexes. It is important to note that the crime is considered completed from the moment the false report is received, and criminal liability is provided for such actions, including imprisonment. According to Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, "Deliberately false report of an act of terrorism" implies serious consequences for offenders.

If such actions are committed by minors, their parents are held responsible for their children's behavior. In this regard, the GKNB urges parents to have explanatory conversations with their children and monitor their behavior. Also, adult citizens should refrain from actions that may harm society and the state for personal or others' interests,” the GKNB stated.
