“We are interested in how many such employees are still working in the GKNB. Will they leave their positions? If they are held accountable, how will this affect the already opened cases? These people have caused serious harm,” Bekeshev emphasized. He added that the GKNB was perceived as something frightening, instilling fear in citizens. “On any issue, everyone was afraid that the GKNB might come. In some cases, this was justified, but in others, it was excessive,” he said.
The deputy suggested that the chairman of the GKNB, Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, hold a press conference to clarify the situation and answer the public's questions.
Bekeshev also expressed confusion regarding the need for curators from the GKNB for deputies: “What is the purpose of such curatorship? We have a presidential representative and a speaker. Issues can always be resolved without unnecessary noise. Are deputies enemies to appoint curators?”
It should be noted that the Jogorku Kenesh previously approved Shabdanbekov's candidacy for the position of head of the GKNB.
