According to the police, activities related to organizing cockfights, for which monetary bets were placed, were halted in the Kara-Suu district. Operatives learned that a local resident had created a venue for such games on his private property. An inspection confirmed this information: a 35-year-old citizen, S.I., used his yard as an arena for the fights.
According to law enforcement, more than 200 local residents attended the event as spectators and participants. Over 100 people from a neighboring country specifically arrived to participate in the gambling activities.
All participants were detained and taken to the police station, where their identities were verified and fingerprints were taken.
As a result of the inspection, protocols were drawn up against seven foreign nationals for violating the rules of stay and labor activity in the Kyrgyz Republic. Each of them received a fine of 5,500 soms, totaling 38,500 soms.
Currently, the possibility of initiating a criminal case against the organizers and active participants of the gambling activities is being considered. Investigative actions will be aimed at legally assessing their actions in accordance with the legislation prohibiting gambling activities.
