In Karakol, the ice cracked, and two people ended up underwater
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a woman born in 2008 and a man born in 1996 fell into the water.
Four rescuers from the Karakol City Department No. 15 arrived at the scene. The Ministry of Emergency Situations staff quickly retrieved the woman from the water and handed her over to medical workers. The man was pulled out by a local resident before the rescuers arrived.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns that the ice on water bodies and in the coastal area remains unsafe and thin. Walking on the ice, engaging in winter sports, or fishing can pose a threat to life.
Rescuers strongly urge parents to keep an eye on their children and prevent them from going onto the ice.
