In Russia, a Kyrgyz woman was obliged to return illegally obtained child benefits to the budget.
The Vorkuta City Court found the 36-year-old Kyrgyzstani guilty of serious fraud related to the receipt of these payments.
According to the case materials, from 2022 to 2025, the woman repeatedly applied to the branch of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund in Komi for the appointment of monthly benefits for her four minor children. In doing so, she indicated Vorkuta as her place of residence, although she actually lived in the Moscow region. As a result, she unlawfully received more than 1.4 million rubles from the budget.
The Kyrgyzstani admitted her guilt and partially compensated for the damage caused. The court sentenced her to a suspended sentence of three years with a probation period of three years as well. In addition, the prosecutor's office won a lawsuit for the recovery of the remaining amount of damage, totaling 1.2 million rubles, which she must return to the Russian state. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
