Police officers in Moscow have been detained for assisting illegal migrants, as reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
According to the decision of the Cheryomushki District Court of Moscow, three out of five detained police officers were arrested on charges of receiving bribes for organizing illegal migration.

The investigation established that from January 2023 to October 2025, a group of seven people, including five police officers, operated in the Southwestern Administrative District and helped more than 2,000 foreigners obtain fake student visas for a fee.

From February to July of last year, the accomplices removed at least 1,500 migrants from the register, who then received forged documents with false information about their place of study. This allowed them to legalize their stay in the country, and for expediting the process of obtaining a Russian passport, the head of the migration department received a separate bribe.

The Investigative Committee of Russia also reported that no later than December 2025, one of the migration inspectors and a police precinct officer ensured the smooth passage of inspections for one of the educational organizations confirming the fact of study of foreign citizens, for monetary compensation.
